About me and BrainRash
Welcome to BrainRash (yes, that’s the best I got).
Thank you for reading my first-ever post in this publication (and platform). A fair warning about this post: as the title suggests, I will be diving a little into who I am, why I am doing this, and what exactly this publication is. If you are uninterested in that, feel free to skip those sections.
What I do suggest, however, is to go through the section: About BrainRash. I feel it is better to go through this section to familiarise yourself with what this repository intends to achieve and hopefully avoid any expectation mismatch.
That being said, have a fun read ahead. Feel free to let me know in the comments about my terrible writing skills and failing attempts at humour.
Cheers!
About Me
First of all, my name is Aaryan. I am a 22-year-old AI researcher at Birla AI Labs, working in Bombay. I am currently, with my team, building a time-series foundation model for temporal data forecasting. My contribution has mostly been the synthetic data generation for training, as well as the testing and evaluation pipeline for the model.
About my education, I finished my undergraduate and a PG diploma (it’s a confusing title) from Ashoka University, with a major in computer science and a minor in physics and maths.
I love playing video games. One of my all-time favourite video game series is Halo. I absolutely love playing it, and was in the middle of my latest play-through of the series before I had to move for my job. Will restart the series on Legendary next time! Other than Halo, I loved playing Ghost of Tsushima and Cyberpunk. Saving some money for Yōtei next!
My Motivation (for BrainRash)
Throughout my entire academic and professional journey, I spent a lot of time exploring the CS, Maths and Physics as fields, with a lot of interdisciplinary intersections as well. I realised (quite late, unfortunately) that a lot of this knowledge does not stay with us indefinitely and slips away earlier than expected.
Hence, the primary goal of this repository is to contain the knowledge of what I have learnt! Something for myself to go back and refer to.
Secondly, I want my learnings and their sources to be accessible to everyone. Sure, if no one wants it, that’s up to them, but I believe strongly that what we learn from each other, we should further share with each other. And I would like to do my part.
Thirdly, I want to improve my horrible writing skills, and who better than strangers on the internet to torture with it?
About BrainRash
This repository will contain information I learn over time. It can span from deep learning concepts to high school mathematics. Sometimes, I will even mention the events or lectures I attend and what I pick from them. Maybe even YouTube videos.
A few things about BrainRash I want to emphasise:
This repository is not for teaching purposes. I am not an expert in any field whatsoever (yet) and would like to make it clear that all my posts are for record-keeping purposes only. Please do not hope for a tutorial about a new technology or some advanced statistical theory.
I am not using any AI whatsoever for writing my posts. Whatever I write, no matter how shabbily I write, will be my own. I am saying this, not because of some hatred towards a bunch of math on a chip, but because the entire idea behind this exercise is to learn more, not churn out posts. So no AI here. Also, it can be refreshing to find some human-written text around us for a change.
I will credit everyone to the best of my ability. Most of my posts would be about topics I am previously unfamiliar with, and to write those posts, I would use external sources such as research, posts, code, books, etc. I certainly, without doubt, do not intend to steal credit for someone else’s hard work, so whatever I end up using, I will give credit. To anyone who reads my posts, if I miss someone, please feel free to let me know.
Finally, if you feel your knowledge is incomplete and would like a record of your learning, give this a try.
Thank you for sticking till the end. Hope to see you all soon.
Navigating Through the posts
Most of my threads will follow this naming convention: ABCDE-###, where ABCDE represents the topic being covered, and ### refers to the post number for that topic within that thread. An example can be: HSMAT-001, which refers to the 1st post (001) in the high school mathematics (HSMAT) thread.
New threads will begin with an introductory post numbered 000, which will explain the thread and link to all subsequent posts as they’re published, acting like its contents page. For example, HSMAT-000.
P.S. I really wanted to add an image to my first post, so here’s one of my favourites (it is also the logo of this repo)!

Amazing post, loved reading it. I love your writing style!
